COVID-19: Fresh Hope As Nigeria Records Yet Another Low Daily Case

This was premised on the fact that Lagos state is the epicenter of the disease has continued to record a daily minimum of cases of the disease.

According to the health agency, the record is slightly below the 690 cases recorded the previous day Sunday recorded as the first lowest since December 2020 that marked the second wave.

According to experts, the daily record decline was as a result of low cases recorded in Lagos state being the epicenter of the pandemic which was usually taking more than half of the daily record of the health agency record.

Earlier, the Sunday report was first put at 520 cases until the NCDC came up with an update and was later raised to 690 by Monday evening after the health agency revealed a record of 170 cases from Lagos state was omitted from the initial record.

The Health agency revealed that with the new record of 574 yesterday, the record toll for Nigeria now stands at 146,928 cases.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that 8 people also died of the dreaded virus from the report of yesterday pushing the death record of the country to 1,761.

Seems as the cases is winding down in Nigeria, the number of infected patients receiving treatment at various isolation center's in the country has drastically reduced to 22,150 from the 24,000 records of last week.

Meanwhile, about 123,009 persons were reported to have recovered from the virus out of 146,000 persons that were confirmed positive from the coronavirus.

The cases of yesterday were reported from 21 states across the federation as follows; Kwara (98), Lagos (81), Edo (59), Ondo (44), FCT (41), Kano (34), Ogun (33), Kaduna (29), Osun (28), Enugu (23), Rivers (18), Delta (16), Akwa Ibom (15), Bauchi (12), Imo (10), Borno (8), Niger (8), Kebbi (7), Nasarawa (5) Gombe (3) and Ekiti (2).

Since the report of the first index case in the country, Nigeria has so far tested only 1.3 million people.

As the country continues to await the vaccine as being stated by the federal government, the PTF on COVID-19 has continued to insist that the citizen should strictly adhere to the COVID-19 protocols in the country.
