Kano State: President Buhari Commissions Tier-Four Data Centre, Others

President Muhammadu Buhari was in Kano State on Monday for a one-day official visit to commission several projects such as a national tier-4 Data Centre, a 10-megawatt solar power project, Dala Inland Dry Port, amongst other projects. According to reports, the tier-4 Data Centre which was executed by Galaxy Backbone Limited is the first of its kind in northern Nigeria with a 41 terabytes memory capacity and 2.2-petabyte storage capacity which is expected to provide more storage facilities for private and public sectors of the country.


The other project launched by President Buhari was the N120 billion 10 megawatts solar energy power plant located in Kumbutso LGA which is projected to improve power supply to industries and also for domestic use.

The power plant was funded, will be supervised and managed by the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) and jointly owned by the Federal Government, Kano state government and the project’s host community.

The President also commissioned the Dala Inland Dry Port, the Muhammadu Buhari Interchange, Cancer Treatment Centre at Muhammadu Buhari Specialist Hospital, the Aliko Dangote Ultra-Modern Skill Acquisition Centre and a Federal Government Housing Unit.

President Buhari commended the governor of Kano State, Umar Ganduje for the state’s infrastructural development.
