Emirate Reinstate Flight Operations In Nigeria

Emirate Airlines has revealed it will be resuming its flight operation between Dubai and Lagos from the 11th of September 2022, this is shortly after the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) allocated the sum of $265 million to airlines operating in the nation for the partial settlement of outstanding ticket sales monies. Meanwhile, the foreign carrier in a statement to its customers has revealed the reopening of its operation will begin with two flights, one inbound, and the other external.

“We are pleased to inform you that effective from 11th September 2022, we will reinstate operations of our flights,” Emirates said.“Inbound flights from Dubai to Lagos (EK783) and outbound flights from Lagos to Dubai (EK784) will recommence from Sunday, 11th September 2022.“Lagos flights after 30th September 2022 will be advised in due course,” the airline said.

Recall on the 18th of September 2022 Emirate announced that it would be suspending all its flights to and from Nigeria, with effect from 1st September 2022, noting that it had tried every means to address its ongoing challenges in repatriating funds from Nigeria, and had tried dialogue with the relevant authorities for intervention.

“We remain keen to serve Nigeria, and our operations provide much-needed connectivity for Nigerian travelers, providing access to trade and tourism opportunities to Dubai, and to our broader network of over 130 destinations,” the airline had stated.
