The Dangote refinery and Petrochemical Company in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos will commence fuel refinery operations in 2021, the President of the Company Alhaji Aliko Dangote said.
Dangote made this known during an assessment tour of the refinery in Lagos on Sunday, saying the refinery comprises of 650,000BPD-capacity refinery, fertilizer processing and power plants operations.
He noted that the refinery operations will commence in phases, the urea fertilizer is slated to commence production in May 2020.
This will end the importation of the product in the country.
While addressing journalists, Dangote lauded the Federal Government, especially the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for its support by reducing the interest rates, allowing entrepreneurs to expand their businesses.
He further said the business industry should not wait for foreigners to invest and develop the country's economy.
