The Director-General (DG) of Budget Office, Ben Akabueze, has disclosed that the Federal Government has received two trillion Naira so far from January to June 2019.
The DG revealed this on Tuesday during a presentation at the Public Consultative Forum on the 2020 to 2022 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper (MTEF/FSP) held in Abuja.
Akabueze said considering the period under review, about 3.3 trillion was expended by the federal government.
He disclosed that there was an average of 1.6 million barrel of crude oil production per day on base production.
He continued that an aggregate of four trillion naira revenue was collected during the year 2018 with an expenditure of N7.4 trillion, including N1.7 trillion capital budgets within the period.
The DG was optimistic that the remaining part of the 2019 physical year would be better in terms of revenue generation.
Akabueze disclosed that going by the data received from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), the country’s oil production output has hit up to 2.1 million barrels per day.
In his contribution, Babatunde Fowler, the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), enjoined taxpayers to keep tab with their taxes ensuring they are been remitted when due.
