Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Monday, 2nd July 2019 directed data collecting agencies to release all relevant individual information to the Joint Tax Board (JTB). He gave the directive during the launch of the Go-Live ceremony for the new National TIN Registration System.

Vigil360 gathered that the directive followed complaints from Mr Tunde Fowler, Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) who disclosed that the service was yet to take delivery of taxpayer data from organizations such as the Central Bank of Nigeria via the NIBBS, and National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

Flower added that the Go-Live ceremony will reinforce the need to work together as one to promote the Economic and Recovery Growth Plan (ERGP) of President Buhari.

He added that the Federal Governments' gesture will encourage State Governments to also promptly remit all Withholding Taxes and VAT due to the Federation Account.
