Unemployment: FG To Disburse N25bn On Agribusiness

As part of fulfilling its campaign promises of the Buhari lead administration on unemployment, Poverty, Hunger and youth restiveness in the country, the federal government has finalized plan to disburse N25billion to Nigerians through The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) and the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) agribusiness loans scheme.


This was stated by the chairman of Northern senators forum, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko during a flag-off of training of 1000 persons on vocational skills as well as disbursement of N10,000 each , to 600 unemployed youth and women under the NDE Micro Enterprise Enhancement Scheme (MEES) in Sokoto state.


Wamakko revealed “This noble gesture by the President, through the NDE, is aimed at carrying all Nigerians along, in line with the tenets of good governance, accountability and transparency,”.


He added, the list of the beneficiaries would soon be compiled. Reaffirming Mr, President position that Nigerian populace are the cornerstone of his administration believing that the scheme would make the beneficiaries self-reliant, and productive.


He noted, the program would transform our youth into better citizens free from drug abuse, thuggery, and other form of ill vices that is capable of infringing on our delicate peace.

 

In his remarks, the Director -General of NDE, Dr. Nasir Ladan Argungu, disclosed that beneficiaries of the agribusiness loan from Sokoto state would be given N780 million.
