Following media reports accusing the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo of corruption, regarding the alleged mismanagement of over N90bn purportedly received from the Federal Inland Revenue Services for the prosecution of the general elections as well as the management of the Social Intervention Programme Funds, the Vice President has offered to waive his immunity to allow for an investigation.
Osinbajo who made his position known on Wednesday via his Twitter handle described the reports as reckless and malicious falsehood. He said he has since instructed his lawyers to commence legal action against those responsible for the circulation of the fake news.

'In the past few days, a spate of reckless and malicious falsehoods have been peddled in the media against me by a group of malicious individuals. The defamatory and misleading assertions invented by this clique have been making the social media rounds anonymously.
'I have today instructed the commencement of legal action against two individuals, one Timi Frank, and another Katch Ononuju, who have put their names to these odious falsehoods. I'll waive my constitutional immunity to enable the most robust adjudication of these claims of libel and malicious falsehood"
