Nigerian Customs Service Set To Recruit 3,200 Officers And Men

The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) from today 17th April 2019 has begun a process of recruiting about 3,200 personnel to occupy existing vacancies within the service.

 

The exercise is part of the ongoing reforms being implemented in the last four years under the stewardship of, Col Hameed Ali (retd).

While addressing the media on Tuesday at the Customs Headquarters, Umar Sanusi, the Acting Deputy Comptroller General Human Resource, said it was time to set the human requirement takes precedence in addressing the reforms.

He revealed the recruitment has already been approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC), noting that those who are eligible irrespective of tribe, affiliation or state will be duly considered for the exercise.

Mr, Sanusi revealed out of the 3,200 personnel to be recruited 800 persons would be recruited as support staff for Superintendent Cadre while the balance of 2,400 would be employed under Customs Inspector and Customs Assistant cadre in the general duty categories.

Accordingly, like any other recruitment into any Federal Government agencies, applications for recruitment will be open to all eligible Nigerians candidates who meet the requirements irrespective of their tribe, religion, state or any other consideration.

He said, “In their bid to ensure an equal and fair opportunity to all applicants, we are working every step of the recruitment process in compliance with the requirements of the Federal Character Commission.”

Meanwhile, He assured that the service would conduct recruitment exercise “that is credible, fair and transparent.”
