Inaugural Speech: Tinubu Affirms End Of Fuel Subsidy Regime

President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed that fuel subsidy is gone under his administration. The president made this clear while delivering his first inaugural speech as the Nigerian leader at Eagle Square while addressing Nigerians. In his statement, “Subsidy can no longer justify its ever-increasing costs in the wake of drying resources. We shall instead re-channel the funds into better investment in public infrastructure, education, health care, and jobs that will materially improve the lives of millions,”

There has been mixed reaction over the subsidy removal by the just concluded President Muhammadu Buhari administration which ended the subsidy regime in their 2023 budget and to be effective by the end of June.

Tinubu disclose that he would review complaints against multiple taxations so as to boost the economy and attract more investors into the country.

Tinubu revealed that his administration is targeting a 6% growth of Gross Domestic Profit while he stirs the affairs of the country to a greater height.
