BREAKING: Second Case of Coronavirus Confirmed in Nigeria

The Minister of Health, Osafie Ehanire has announced a second confirmed case of Coronavirus in Nigeria. information reaching Vigil360 revealed that the victim is one of those in isolation for having contact with the Italian who was the first confirmed case of the disease. The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed this in a tweet on Monday. NCDC tweeted that "This second case is a contact index case, in Ogun State. The new case has been in isolation and was tested as part of our strategy to test all contacts of the index case."

Meanwhile, the President of World Health Organization, WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has expressed commendation towards the Nigerian government for "the swift and transparent way the nation shared the Covic19 sequence from the country's first case." According to Ghebreyesus, the good work done by the Nigerian government is a true act of solidarity and an important step in stopping the Coronavirus from spreading further.
